WELCOME TO
"WHAT IS LOVE?"

My name is Britt. This project belongs to my friends, a child named Jena, myself and all of you.

It started when my partner found this discarded Artist Supply & Activity Set on the street and brought it home knowing I would find a use for it. Neither of us could have predicted what was hiding inside.

Tucked away in the kit I found a letter written by a child named Jena with lyrics to a song titled

"What is Love?" written on the other side (pictured below!).

I decided to use these lyrics as a catalyst for a game of "Artistic Telephone" - a twist on the classic children's game of "Telephone".

What began as an idea to inspire friends during Lock Down has turned into a vast web of art featuring 37 artists of all different mediums.

HELLO!

To begin, I gave Jena's lyrics to a musician who recorded an original song.

THE SONG went to an artist who created an original artwork.

THE ART went to a dancer who choreographed & shot a piece of movement.

THE MOVEMENT went to a writer who produced a written work.

THE WRITING went to a filmmaker who captured a 2-5min film.

THE FILM completed the Telephone Line.

I did this 7 times. There are 7 Telephone Lines.

IT IS IMPORTANT TO NOTE: Like a true game of Telephone, each artist was only given what the person before them made.

JENA'S LYRICS > SONG > ART > MOVEMENT > WRITING > FILM

And now with all artists having completed their turn, the original lyrics are revealed to be compared to the final message and all that happened in between.
